Dr. Edwin R. McDANIEL

Dr. McDaniel received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University. He is currently a member of the Thunderbird Educator Network at the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Member-at-Large of the Japan-U.S. Communication Association. He is also a retired Professor of Intercultural Communication at Aichi Shukutoku University, in Japan, and has been a Japan ICU Foundation Visiting Scholar at the International Christian University in Tokyo. He is the co-author/co-editor of several intercultural communication textbooks, and his articles and book chapters have been published in China, Germany, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, as well as the United States. He is frequently invited to speak on the role of culture and intercultural communication across a variety of contexts. In 2013, he spoke at two large commercial forums in China and in 2014 he was an invited speaker at the Chengchi National University in Taiwan and the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China. He also holds an MA in history, concentrating on Russia and Northeast Asia. Before beginning an academic career, Dr. McDaniel was in government service, working, travelling, and living in more than 40 countries.
Dr. McDaniel is a lecturer and is not anticipated to be teaching with us in Fall.
