Bio
Lin Huang holds a B.A. in Communication with Distinction from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Huang serves as a Teaching Associate and researcher at San Diego State University and is affiliated with the California Thirdhand Smoke Resource Center. His research examines Communication Accommodation Theory, interpersonal relationships, social influence, credibility, and persuasion in AI-mediated communication using quantitative and experimental methods. His theoretical work with Dr. Howie Giles extending Communication Accommodation Theory is forthcoming in Psychology of Language and Communication. His first-author research on AI-mediated communication is currently under review. He presents his work at the National Communication Association and Western States Communication Association conventions. He is currently working on book chapters on CAT with Howie. He is a co-author with Dr. Record on brief reports related to Thirdhandsmoke.

Research
Currently, I am expanding the Communication Accommodation Theory with Dr. Howie Giles. Our theoretical piece has been invited to be submitted to the Journal of Behavioral Science.
My empirical paper, Sweet Texting: Examining Dyadic Rapport in AI-Mediated Texting Dynamics, Humans' AI-Detections, and the Perceived Identity Invisible Effect, is submitted to the Journal of Language and Social Psychology.
