Lambda Pi Eta
Pathways to Join Lambda Pi Eta
Your Path to Lambda Pi Eta
You don't have to wait until your junior or senior year to get involved.
Our SDSU Lambda Pi Eta chapter provides three pathways for involvement based on where you are in your academic journey:
PLEDGE → ASSOCIATE → REGULAR MEMBER
Pledge and Associate are local SDSU Chapter participation statuses. They allow students to become involved with our chapter before qualifying for official national induction.
Regular Membership is official, nationally inducted Lambda Pi Eta membership.
And you do not have to complete each pathway in order.

Local SDSU Lambda Pi Eta Chapter Participation Status
The Pledge pathway gives students who are beginning their Communication education an opportunity to become involved with Lambda Pi Eta before meeting the academic requirements for Associate or Regular Membership.
Pledges can participate in chapter meetings, events, professional development opportunities, community engagement, social activities, and other chapter programming.
Who is this pathway for?
The Pledge pathway is designed primarily for:
- First-year undergraduate students who are declared Communication Studies majors or minors at SDSU
- First-year graduate students in the M.A. in Communication program who have not yet completed the national graduate credit requirement
There is no GPA requirement to begin participating as a Pledge.
