Support Aztec Speech and Debate

Aztec Forensics is dedicated to providing our students the help they need, especially when it comes to philanthropic support. We work diligently to make it possible for our students to participate in these programs at no cost to them, however, Forensics is a highly competitive and time consuming activity. We offer scholarships to our students to help them pay for their education while being able to still compete; and we ask for your help to continue doing so. Please look at the various giving opportunities below to see how you and others can support making Aztec Forensics accessible for all students.

"After joining the SDSU debate team, I was offered a generous scholarship through the Bernstein Endowed Fund for Forensics Tuition. Not only was it recognition for the effort I had produced for the forensics teams, it was a life altering reward. From this scholarship, I was able to afford all of my supplies for school, create a more manageable budget, and even begin saving for my future. Beyond astounding coaching and critical academic advice from both of my coaches, Kyle Pryor-Landman and Gabe Graville, they provided me the avenue towards this valuable scholarship. I cannot thank the San Diego State University forensics team enough for their valuable advice, strong community, and their life changing scholarships for our effort.” - Spencer Simon

Spencer is on our 2024-2025 Forensics Team Roster and competes in NPDA as part of the Debate Team.

“Last year was my first year as a member of any speech and debate team. I joined because I wanted to get new experiences with people who had similar interests as me, and I'm so glad I did because being on the team was one of the highlights of my Freshman year. In my second semester at SDSU, I received a generous scholarship through the Bernstein Endowed Fund for Forensics Tuition. This scholarship allowed me to breathe a little easier when it came to finances and school payments, and I was able to turn that extra attention towards improving my speech and debate skills and bonding with my Forensics Team. Without my scholarship and other financial assistance I received, I don't know that I would've been able to stay on the team last year. I'll be forever grateful for the generosity and kindness shown to me as a first-time team member. I'm so excited to be on the Forensics Team again this year, and I can't wait to continue all the great work we started last year!” - Kaily Brooks

Kaily is on our 2024-2025 Forensics Team Roster and competes in Platform and Limited Preparation Speeches as part of the Individual Events (I.E.) Team.
