Support Aztec Forensics

Aztec Forensics is dedicated to providing our students the help they need, especially when it comes to philanthropic support. We work diligently to make it possible for our students to participate in these programs at no cost to them, however, Forensics is a highly competitive and time consuming activity. We offer scholarships to our students to help them pay for their education while being able to still compete; and we ask for your help to continue doing so. Please look at the various giving opportunities below to see how you and others can support making Aztec Forensics accessible for all students.

Matt Hitomi

“It was an honor to be recognized for my hard work as an accomplished competitor and student-leader on the San Diego State University Debate Team, and the scholarship allowed me to focus on achieving all that I was capable of while continuing my professional development. The funding provided by the forensics scholarship helped me balance a full-time senior level course load, law school applications, and debating at the highest level. Aside from the phenomenal coaching and sage advice, easing my financial burden during the most tumultuous time in my college career was one of the most impactful things that the Forensics coaching staff could have provided me. As a result of the scholarship, I was able to lead San Diego State Debate to a top five placement at a national tournament and am continuing to make an impact by studying law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law.” - Matt Hitomi

Matt competed from 2020-2022, acted as the team’s Debate Captain for 2 years, Treasurer for one year, was a multiple time tournament champion and individual debate speaker, and took 3rd at the National Parliamentary Debate Association’s Championship Tournament.

Hailea competed from 2018- 2022, and was a Multiple Time Tournament Champion and National Qualifier 4 years in a Row for Interpretive and Platform Events, took 6th in Poetry at the American Forensics Association’s National Championship.
